A resource for runners who like to suffer.
I have mixed feeling.
I totally respect New Balance for their dedication to the minimalist trail shoes that they produce and continue to improve (I still sometimes run in an old pair of MT100s). And, I fully appreciate their sponsoships of Anton, Liza, Erik, etc... I feel like they're one of the only mainstream shoe brands that are taking part in the ultra world.
However, I don't take seriously any of their non-minimalist trail shoes. I feel they're not even in the ballpark of Vasque or Montrail or Salomon, etc...
Overall, I love New Balance as a brand and am excited that they're extending their reach into the ultra world.
I can't remember who last year's shoe sponsor was? Vasque?
PS - Anyone think this had a tiny influence on Anton's decision to run Leadville this year?
